I was going to say, there's more than a handful of decrepid ones running around with more mileage than the digital odo can accomodate.

So what exactly happens with the digital ODO's when they reach 999,999 KMS? Do they just freeze or reset?

I had an XF on gas. Bought it at 205,000 and sold it at 315,000 klms. Never put a spanner to the engine....I was waiting for the valves to burn out on it but never happened. I saw it just before xmas and it has 335,000 on it now....

It had digital dahs electical problems which caused the temp gauge to go into the red every now and again. It didn't have a thermostat when I bought it and I never put one in it. I suspected that running cold could have helped it as it wasn't being stressed by 'warm up - cool down' cycles. Never leaked oil either...great car....miss it a little

I've got a XF ghia on gas which i use to get to work (140km round trip 6 days a week) with 290,000 on it, had it for 3 years & done stuff all to it & it gets a hiding.. It also has the same problem with the temp guage, i've been meaning to put a vdo guage in, those older ford digital dash's can be a bit dodgy, the speedo says some funny things sometimes too... gotta expect it for a 21yo car tho..

The dash looks different ... must be a Series 1 thing.
In regards to starting there's a few things that need to be checked.
Is your's dual fuel or factory dedicated???

cool ... wasn't sure.
Could be a number of things when it comes to hard starting ... especially when it's a duel fuel setup.

The spanner means that it needs a service, i think FORD can set when it come up next or it come up every 10,000kms!

Cheers
