aircon making car rev

hey guys
i had my aircon on yesterday on the way to the all ford day and was talking to my dad about how my car every say 20 seconds or so i hear a CLICK like a solinoid going from under the bonnet and then the engine revs up 100rpm or so then goes back down (sorta like a light blip on the throttle)
its always done it.. and only when the A/C is on

also water drips on the passenger side foot well while hte A/C is on??

is the 1st issue normal?
and how do i clean the water overflow tube to stop my floor getting wet?

its called AC idle up and perfectly normaly. when the AC clutch engages it increases the resistance on the fan belts. the ecu compensates by ideling the engine up.

as for prob 2, normally happens when AC drain is clogged up and overflows. exit of the drain is on passanger side underneath intake manifold on firewall, clear it out and that shall fix that problem. depending on where it has been blocked simple tools like coat hange or similar may remove the problem.

Be careful poking anything metal up the drain tube as you can damage the evaporator.
Best to gently poke a cable tie up to try and unblock the tube.

what about using compressed air?
to blow thru the hole

Compressed air would only blow any dirt back into the evaporator, you want to try and get it out not push it back where it will eventually block again.
