Reverse switch on LR

Where is the reverse switch on a LR manual zetec? The reverse lights only work occasionally. I have checked the globes etc. I think that the switch may be dodgey.

Manuals there should be a switch(sensor looking thing) on the gearbox.

I had problems with the reverse light on my LR. The rear wiper didn't automatically come on as it should, so I assumed that it was more than just a bulb. I tried the relevant fuses and the Ford dealer tried replacing the bulb and then the bulb holder before they agreed that it was the switch.

I vaguely recall the switch actually being on the gearbox.
