The Star Wars fan in me must reply "Star Destroyer" - as long as Grand Admiral Thrawn is in command.

That's what I can't understand about the weapons of the "future". You have been able to master intergalactic travel and energy weapons but still aim down the sight?

We have guided weapons now!

+1 for the Enterprise. Guided weapons would make it too quick. Need to be able to saviour the battle.

(Geek hat on) The star destroyer can project power with its complement of TIE Fighters, Interceptors, Bombers and Defenders. Ion cannon bursts would be enough to disable the Enterprise's shields.
(Geek hat off)

Lets not forget... Enterprise has the ability to go back in time.

They could just pop a phaser charged cap in the *** of the guy who designs the Star Destroyer ;)

There would be two winners.

1) The law firm that represents Paramount over trade mark violations by Lucas.

It would have to be the Enterprise who wins.... The good guys always win in the end. Don't they?

The star of the TV show never dies (USS Enterprise), whereas the Star Destroyers are big and scary - until they are taken out by and X-wing or similar flying into the bridge. They are just cannon fodder for the Rebels

For me, a nerd thread would have anything to do with:

Red Dwarf
Star Control
Mass Effect
Stargate
Star Trek

Do we see a pattern here?
