Hi All,
Just wondering what the best brush for stone chip touching up is? How expensive and where do you generally purchase? Are there cheap brushes that do a good job? The panel beater today said that just a normal fine kids paint brush is ok. What technique works best? Your thoughts and experiences are always appreciated. GK

Usually the smaller and finer the better so you dont end up with big blobs of paint on there, far easy to add more than remove it!
Pending on the colour though you can sometimes get away with the touch up sticks etc ready made. Turtle Wax make a range of them that supposedly blend with the colour of your car i.e. if your car is red or a derivative of red, you buy the red touchup stick. Im yet to use it but I do intend to try it as I have a black car with one tiny little scratch on the mirror that is driving me nuts!

Go to Autobarn paint section and buy some fine touch up brushes. They are what i use and seem to do the job, it depends on colour tho, some colours look worse touched up then chiped!

Use a toothpick, specially for the stone chips, and layer it on with the bigger chips

Ford sell touch up bottles with brushes as well, budget for around $12.
