Default Just a short video I took...

while I was parked of my tacho, includes sound while I give it a few revs.

MotherNature, your boys might like this one...

Ok, ok, I know it's not as impressive as the minginator, but hey, it's MINE!

And don't worry dial-up users, it'll only take a few moments to download, it's only 132 KB (135,168 bytes), so even on a 28.8K connection it shouldn't take more then a minute.

And does anybody know where I can store another video (AVI) I took which is 2.82 MB (2,966,528 bytes) in size? I tried uploading to my gallery, but I guess it's too big, it didn't work. :(

I managed to shrink the other video down from 2.82 MB (2,966,528 bytes) to 320 KB (327,680 bytes) without it suffering any noticable loss in quality, so now I present to you the more interesting of the two videos, the acceleration run from about 5km/h to 60km/h in my Escort, using 1st and 2nd gear.

It could have done better if it had been from a standing start (higher revs, say 2000rpm then let the clutch out reasonably quickly), but this was easier to film, and considering it's a stock 4 cyl that isn't in perfect condition and I planted my boot from just over 1000rpm (there isn't really any power to speak of until about 3000rpm), I think it was a respectable run.

Link: http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...cat=500&page=1 320 KB (327,680 bytes)

Enjoy!

P.S. You'll need either DivX or XviD installed to be able to view it.

Nope, camera phone, then I copied it across to the computer, converted it from 3gp video format to AVI, recompressed them and finally uploaded it here.

Thanks, I think it goes pretty well for what it is, well enough to not deserve the "shopping trolley" label that is often reserved for 4 cylinders, that's my opinion anyway. I can't wait until after it's had a bit of work done - extractors, sports exhaust, aftermarket cam, some porting of the head (the usual mods really, LOL) - then I might consider taking it to Calder or Heathcote and see what sort of 60' times, as well as the 1/4 mile, I can get out of it.

Buggar indeed! :(

The second one (acceleration run) should work no problem if you've got the latest version of DivX installed, just go to the DivX link in my post above and download and install it.

The first one was encoded with Microsofts MPEG4 V2 codec, which should play back on most recent versions of Microsoft Windows Media Player, and if it doesn't (or you don't have Media Player 9 or 10, not sure about 8), this page looks as if it'll get them working after a quick download and install.

Try those MN and see if that fixes it :

Anyone else want to post vids of their own ride in action?
The `xr8888_3.mp3' clip from one of the v8 threads is nice...
