Thumbs up The BBS wheel saga over? Sort of.

G'day all,

As some of you may remember, I purchased some BBS wheels late last year from the US and have had a terrible time taking possession of them. After multiple drives to Tullamarine and West Melbourne, many months of stressful waiting, an ignored plea for help to my local MP, an extremely complex form for Customs and a shocking storage bill, the final hurdle was overcome today.

A big cash advance on the credit card and I paid off the storage and have taken possession of the wheels. They are going into storage indefinitely until I can start to recover, but it's a huge relief to know that the bulk of the ordeal is over. I have yet to add up the costs incurred to me, in some ways I'd rather not.

However, the other big development since my last thread is that I have found out the root of all these problems. It turns out the original logistics company I dealt with was supposed to send out an envelope to me with all the information I'd need to collect the item, and an expected date of the shipment arriving! I received absolutely nothing and only managed to track them down a month or so later using some detective work.

As this mistake has caused me such detrimental losses, I am going to pursue legal action and hopefully get at least some of the storage costs back. I feel better knowing I am not to blame for the disaster. Kicking *** will be quite enjoyable.

Despite all this, when I opened up the package today my face looked like this ==> I got some pictures next to my existing sik EA magz.

They are +35 so fit straight on the eunos, and the EA will get hub adapters and be able to share the wheels when Jack feels like it.

So it was worth the wait and stress? They look great! One of the best wheel designs ever. Oh and what diameter are they? 18" or 19"

Cheers for the responses guys!

I will get a photoshop, just that I'm mid way another couple of final exterior mods and waiting to order some new LED globes for the Eunos, then the car will see the light of day again.

The Eunos offset is actually 40-45 so very unusual, thus the need to specially order the wheels. As Jase said they'll fit the EA with a big-*** adaptor if I ever get bored.

Ash, they're 18", which from pics of other modified examples seemed the best proportioned, as well as more practical than 19". There are obviously things I'd do differently if reliving the saga, but to look to the future, I'm a happy camper and will hopefully get some compensation.

Cheers again for the comments.

Cheers guys.

Full specs are 18 x 8.0, 5 x 114.3, +40 offset. I plan to spend about $1k on tyres when the time comes, which is pretty base level but should do the job. I'm not too worried about gutters because the car is driven infrequently and gently, and being front-drive with 4WS and traction control, you'd have to be somewhat stupid to lose it.

I'm discussing the matter with a lawyer so the final cost is not yet seen. Thus the 'sort of' in the thread title. :P
