hey i know pre EF falcons have poor security and apparently are easy to start without the key.. im thinking of putting a killswitch maybe to the ignition and/or fuel pumps etc.. which would be the best place to wire the switch into? i was going cut/resolder a couple of wires straight from the ecu, should i do that or not?
some suggestions would be appreciated cheers |

i reckon one of the best killers is to coil or to fuel pump, or both....
no fuel or spark = no go |

You can disrupt the power to the pump after the relay by fitting another relay.
Same deal can be done for the coil or starter. Try and do it after ECU to make it harder to steal

thanks LTDHO, but i dont entirely know what you mean by do it after the ECU... should i run the wires straight from the left hand side kick panel where the ECU is to the switch(if so which wire from the ecu would it be?) or should run a wire from where the fuel pump is and also is the second relay needed if i am using pretty thick 1mm building wire for the switch wire (same as what we use to wire up 240v light circuits with) and a high current switch...i mean i know how to wire up a simple relay circuit but is it really necessary? and for ideas where to put it i was thinking about putting it in the lift up lid in the center console any other suggestions?

i understand what you want to say. just attach a switch to the positive wire to the fuel pump, and hide the switch somewhere. to interrupt the circuit, hence no power to pump. im not too sure which or where the wire is to the pump though sorry

Simple and effictive, earth the negative wire of the coil to ground and have a switch and its meant to be heaps better than the switch to the positive because if you chase the wire into the harness a little and hide where youve tapped into the wire its really hard to find where as with the posive side can be bypassed with a wire from the battery to the coil. I read this in a ford magazine on an artical on car thefts, cant remember which one though. hope this helps
