Pan-fried buckwheat and button mushrooms, shredded beet and aioli salad, bocconcini steeped in truffle oil and honey.

Yesterday I had a customer approach me and ask if that Ranger in the car park was mine. Feeling concerned that something was wrong, I said yes cautiously. The guy went on to say that he had spotted it a few times and that it was the cleanest ute he has ever seen. Made my day hearing that. As we chatted, turns out he is a Ford nut like me. He then mentioned his FG-X XR8, my jaw dropped and I told him I had one too. Was such a nice encounter, a chance conversation that gave me such a lift for the day.

And today I spotted an immaculate Ford Econovan like below drive past as I was mowing.

Now I know these aren't especially interesting or special, but these things are usually worked into the ground. This thing was gleaming. It made me smile knowing that the owner respects his machinery.

The Roos beating the Saints today and coming from 5 goals down. I changed my footy picks to the Roos so glad they got up.

Spotted what looked like a Nissan Navara under all that mud on my walk yesterday morning.

Made me smile as it looked like someone had a fun time on the weekend........... and that I don't have to wash all that mud off!

Both the grass and driveway are cleanish. Although maybe he went to the local hand car wash and parked out of sight, asked for the $20 outside only wash and had the complimentary coffee entertained by the workers disgusted looks as they get underpaid to wash that thing.

Paper towel, Handee Ultra, at Woolies. Bought.

Also Italian penne, $2.00 instead of 89¢ for the Aussie one but it’s in the cupboard now, along with a big jar of SW kosher mayonnaise (that was on special).

Finding discrepancies consistently between availability on the website and actual floor stock.

After more than thirty years of using Gillette shavers, I purchased a Schick Hydro 3. Gillette lost me last year with their toxic masculinity ad. The only reason it took so long to make the change is because I purchased a lot of new Mach 3 cartridges just before the ad was released and they are too expensive to throw away unused.

I had a saucy Sunday.

We make tomato sauce each year, a bit of tradition and a perfect activity to distract the mind at the moment.

A haul of 30 bottles this year. The recipe book was my grandmothers and is something that I cherish. It's covered in stains and remnants of flour, nan was a messy cook but her food always tasted amazing.

Got a big bag of Fuji apples from my work mate for getting him out of a jam . His ride on came to a grinding halt a week or two back , his push mower snapped starter chord and unbelievably his line trimmer was playing up too.

Fronted up at 10 am with my Husky ride on , my 4 stroke MTD and my battery trimmer and while I cut all the orchard area and bottom lawn , Muzz used my MTD to cut around the house and trim around the paths . One and a half hours later it was all done .

We had a cuppa and then Michele and Murray (Muzz) offered me some of their gorgeous Fuji's after I refused payment for my fuel ..

Apparently I can have some more in a week or two .. So impressed with the battery trimmer was Muzz that he's going to buy one now but I urged him to go for a good brand one and a twin battery pack and he reckons he will .

Apples and converting a dedicated petrol head in regard to garden equipment is why I feel good today .

Look at you the hero not letting people make their way home whilst yourself not self isolating, meeting mates and interacting with people that you don’t know. You are a hypocrite. Pick your battles very carefully as you will upset the wrong person and you will be knocked of your high horse

Saw an ex-girlfriend who is now a meth addict.

Child taken off her by husband etc. (fair enough)

I hadn't seen her for near 10 years, but seeing her smile again, and have a laugh together about better times we had made for a really good day.

I'm hopeful she can kick the drug but if not I'll continue to support as she is a very sweet, albeit troubled, girl. (30yo)

It sucks that i have to do work at my mums house tomorrow, but i get to get back on my drumkit. Yeah it was new in 95. But i got it new and the only original parts are the shells. I both love that thing and do hold pride in the mega 90s touring band thing i did to it. Blank black remo bass drum skin with a billy hydes sticker. Yeah billy hydes have been out of business for years, but they werent when i was throwing parts at my kit.
