Default Newbie query.

G'day everyone, first time post from a newbie.

I have a manual, 4dr 2007 Focus CL LT, and with a new car just around the corner for the wife, I'm considering keeping the Focus for some weekend track fun...but not as the Focus is at present.
Planed modifications are fairly basic as my 'red mist' days are over (yeah right!) and I'm looking for enjoyment, not fastest times etc.
So I'm looking at a moderate increase in power upgrade...chip, exhaust, breathing etc...wheels/tyres, pad upgrade, minor suspension mods.

Queries:
I'm wanting a suitable, reliable plugin chip upgrade. Do we have an existing discussion link here on that topic, or can anyone recommend a chip?
Does anyone here have experience with fitting 225/50 tyres on 17 x 7.5 inch rims on this model Focus? Is there sufficient clearance, or do I need to go narrower?

Any advice welcome, and thanks in advance.

Default Re: Newbie query.

There are no chip upgrades available for your car, only the diesel models.

You will have to look at generic ECU tunes preloaded on a SCT device, or SCT custom tuning.
