Default So I'm coming to Melbourne...yet again!

Spur of the moment decision, some friends of mine and I are coming to Melbourne! What better way to spend a weekend than a roadtrip and hitting up melbournes night life!
Keeping you posted as usual!
Iggy.

Driver took a wrong turn, ended up halfway to mildura not ararat, woops! Fun times. Slept a few hours, feeling very refreshed, enjoying the sunrise and relative comfort of the VX SS we are using as transport. Great cruiser vehicle despite not being a ford!

Partied at Bang nightclub, then Casino, now in a maxi on the way back to narre Warren, for some Jack daniels and bed. We chewed through $1,400 in 3 hours! I don't think we will forget this in a while.

No pics, everything was R rated last night, and this is a family forum after all.
We are just on our way to hoppers crossing, then heading home. Great weekend!

Default Re: So I'm coming to Melbourne...yet again!

So, the weekend breakdown: My friend Julia and I where asked to come watch a movie at Marion, this was at 5 on Friday arvo, I withdrew all the money I had ($150) and picked Julia up. We went to Marion and had a beer then caught the movie Final Destination 5 in 3D, we saw it with some friends. Afterward we drove to morphettvale to watch another movie at my mate Dales house and check out his '67 Cadillac.
About 15 minutes in to Ace Ventura, I got a phone call from my mate Tim, I first thought "great Tim will be drunk and wanting a ride home". It's 10pm by now and I was not in the mood for driving to pick him up. I took the call regardless and first thing I heard was his drunken voice shouting down the receiver at me.
"Naish! What are you doing ya ****head!"
"I'm at dales, with Julia, how about yourself?"
"ok shut up. Just shutup. Answer yes or no. Do you want an epic weekend?"
".......um"
"yes or no ****head!"
"ok, yes, I guess."
"right. Mate. Get Jules, drive home, and we are going to pick you up. I've got Heinze in the SS he's driving and we are going to Melbourne!"
"....what. What the ****. I can't go to Melbourne. I've got $120 bucks and where are we going to stay?"
"i've got $700 and Heinze has $400. We can stay at my mates in narre Warren. EPIC WEEKEND! LET'S GO!"
".......ok. **** it. Why not!"
I grabbed Julia and mumbled a goodbye to dale and the others, didn't offer and explanation, just took Julia and got in the Laser.
She asked me what we where leaving for, I asked if she'd ever been to Melbourne randomly with the plan of cutting loose in the city. She got all excited and started shouting, she seemed obviously keen to nick off out of Adelaide for a spell.
So I powered home(10.35pm by now) and grabbed contact lense gear, boxers, socks and deodorant and a toothbrush. Jules was so excited we forgot to go to her house for supplies.
Tim and Heinze arrived 5 minutes later with our other friend Bianca, and we piled in the VX SS and drove to the servo at the base of the expressway. We bought a ten pack of redbull, carton of cigarettes and a heap of servo snacks. I then popped the million dollar question: "does your mate know we are coming Tim?"
"....ye-no."
so Tim rings his mate while we jump in the SS, pumped up and ready for a spontaeneous roadtrip. Lucky for us his mate was keen for a few SA people to come crash so it was no problem.
2 hours in we stopped at a roadhouse and got some more food. 3 blokes and 2 girls hammered through so much food we needed more. Hungry Man pies, traveller pies, pasties, chips, lollies, chocolate and hot chips. Thankyou mr Tim with the bankroll.
$115 later with a full tank of juice and a car load of food we set off. Next stop nhill.
We hammered the food within an hour, mainly my fault, I'm a hungry man. Julia was like an excited jitterbug, drinking red bull and chatting about what clubs to go to.
We got to nhill and bought more fuel and a pie each then set off again.
Here comes the problem. Despite massive caffeine consumption everyone bar Heinze the driver fell asleep. At horsham instead of turning off to ballarat he continued straight to mildura. Lucky for us tim woke up, berated Heinze and we turned around. Only 2 hours delay. Yeah cheers Heinze. He's still copping it as we speak.
We arrived in ballarat around 5ish or 6ish and got mcdonalds, then onward to Melbourne(no more stops or "scenic route detours". arrival in Melbourne around 8ish and we rang tims mum who lives in weribee and surprised her with a visit. Cup of tea and a shower, then the offer of a few hours powernap.
We slept till 3 then I took over the SS to drive to narre Warren to meet dion, tims buddy. I am a novice at melbournes roads but I know them better than the others. With no problems I got us to narre Warren. We met dion and his mate Dane.
We followed him to his home in Churchside park, and hatched a plan.
1) Kmart for jeans for Heinze, who only wore track pants.
2) booze.
3) sweet talk dions mum into a drive to the train station later.
4) sweet talk dions mum into cooking chicken wings for dinner.
5) begin the "EPIC WEEKEND!!!!!!"

so around 7 we cracked our first beers, raised a cheer, and promised ourselves a night of fun.
I suggested Bang nightclub, the metal club in the city, it's equivalent in Adelaide is Black Market and I had heard great things about it. We ate wings, drank beer and joked about what shenanigans we would get up to.
At 9.45 we got a drive to the train station and purchased tickets, then got on the train. The mood was pretty hyped, all 7 of us couldn't wait to get into town.
We got into a good natured argument with some melbournites over kebab/yiros and we still maintain it's called a yiros, NOT a kebab!
The argument was not resolved.
We got off at southern cross station and walked to Bang.
1 hour lineup was cut short to 10 minutes through some skillful negotiation on danes behalf. I won't tell you about the club experience, needless to say it was filled with shots, fancy made up drinks(hey bartender, put a shot of every bourbon you have in a tall glass with coke hehehe), after all we did have over a grand to blow and with petrol money already taken care of at tims mums we didn't hold back.
Bang got very crowded. I started overheating on the dance floor, then tim announced we should rock up to crown casino and have a gamble. We rolled up, but first grabbed YIROS' with the lot and smashed them. Crown was good, I broke even, Heinze lost $50 on roulette, tim won $70, Julia and Bianca didn't gamble, Dane had to just about get dragged off roulette however. Dion drank beer.
We grabbed a maxi cab at 3.30 when we realized we had $150 between us all and it'd cost that much to get back to dions.
Arrived at dions around 4ish, had a cup of tea and a snack and all crashed out on sofas and mattresses.
Next morning Dions old man cooked bacon and egg sandwiches and we all left around 11. Quick stop over at tims mums for money and we left Melbourne with sore heads, great memories and empty wallets.
We got Krispy Kremes as a little goodbye present to ourselves.
We are now on the road out of stawell and I hope you all enjoyed this little essay.
Until next random roadtrip, good day!
Iggy.
