What is upsetting, this event was organised 3 months ago, yet poorly promoted.
However I will be there !!

Looks like i wont be racing with my slicks now. I had my slicks on rims ready to put in back seat. Got my street tyres mounted on my other rims to drive there and the offset is all wrong. Had to use 4 spacers on each rim plus the nuts only go on half the nut. Far too dangerous like that. So i will be driving to the track and racing on Mickey Thompson Sportman Pros. Not sure if i going to get traction on these. I know the track is going to be in great condition so i might be lucky.

mick hayes ran a 7.9something @170+ in pro street blown
idris demaj 8.37 @ 166 pro street unblown (bbf power)
mick voas ran 8.8something in mod street unblown
not sure about the others as i wasn't paying close attention

micheal taranto wrecked his bbf powered rx4 in a top end accident. the wind got into his chute and lifted the back end off the ground. driver is ok but car not looking good.

this was the best meeting i've seen at calder for the past two years. plenty of cars and a good crowd considering there was no promotion of the event, melbourne had early drizzle during the morning and a dodgy forecast. if only the moronic management at that backwater track would realise the potential but thats a whole new thread

Great pics, keep them coming! Any other forum members race? Sounds like it was a good day, apart from Micheal Taranto's mishap.

Maybe this might wake the track management up and make them realise the potential that a well prepared and organised facility possesses. They only have to look at WSID or Perth Motorplex to see what could be.

I have heard no complaints about the start line at Calder since the new one went in, looks like the cars were hooking up very well.
Calder is always sprayed to 3/4 track even on a street meet the last spray happens about 20 mind before racing.
Big bonus for drag racing is 2 meeting in Australia were supported on the same day, who would have thought you would get 134 plus cars in Melb on the same day WSID has a comp meeting..
Nice pics..

60 ft on that run was 1.683.
it had fuel surge therefore the mph was down on the rest of the runs.
