Battery ok?

Got a multimeter?

Check the battery voltage while cranking then Check for volt drop down the solenoid sw wire as you crank. (probe the sw terminal and a B+ source)

the ticking usually means flat battery.. make sure you do the terminals up tight too, just sitting them on there without doing them up won't start.

Do you have a multimeter?

If not and you want to confirm it's not the starter (could still be the solenoid wire) look at the solenoid on the starter, there will be the thick B+ cable and another smaller wire attached to the plug on the solenoid. Disconnect this and jump a bit of wire from the b+ connection to this terminal on the solenoid and see if the started engages and cranks.

Make sure you hand brake is on and it's not in gear!!!
