Default Windscreen chipped!

Well on the way to work I hard a lovely fat rock hit my windscreen and took a chip out of it. Before it gets worse I want it repaired or replaced. Does anyone recommend anyone is Melbourne that does a good job. If they come to home/work it would be better too.

Thanks

Widscreens O'Brien have a service for this..Sorry to hear about your big rock... :

I got a small rock right at the top of the passenger side on day 1 of my new Zetec 2 weeks ago and 2 days later on a hot day it started to crack and now is about 100mm long....Bad news is my insurance (RACQ) doesnt cover a new one..so I will prob go non genuine to replace it >$300
....anyone have insurance that actually covers a replacement screen?..I have never had to claim for one and was a bit surprised it wasn't covered..Oh well, Live and Learn I guess

Yeh Swann Insurance covers it only if you had paid the extra for windscreen cover. Got mine replaced at O'Brien in Mt. Waverly because of a chip on the window as I had the windscreen cover and best of all my premium won't be going up as I asked them if it was going to go up.

Now I can't remember how much more I paid for the option but I'm glad I did. :togo:

Well I did end up getting it repaired from Novus windscreens. Charged $55 for it. Too bad it still looks the same. So I am going to replace the screen before SFS.

I hate stonechips on the windscreen, it's really hard to avoid when doing a lot of motorway driving.

NRMA has a windscreen cover option which I have.

Can you take a pic of the chip? Really small ones look big to me, just curious how bad yours is.

I will take a pic later today or tomorrow when I wash it. It just sits above where the wiper arms are so it isn't in my field of view. But I know it's there. Like I said I will change it before the car show next year.
