Not too bad IMO. Just think the interior will be underdone in this price range consideriong you wont even get cruise control.

The interior is already underdone IMO.
Do they have a base spec cruise control?

I use to think the same, but then again HSV's usually take a while to grow on me.

I'm assuming interior is based on base SS rather than the SS V.

I have been considering a new Maloo. This is almost unbelievable but you know the main thing that I hate about Holdens.... The poxy stalk mounted cruise control, I LOVE the Falcon cruise control and for a lot of distance driving pretty much only use the buttons on the wheel to control speed, actually I use it pretty much everywhere as it helps me not speed too much. I just know I would miss the Ford cruise control badly.

VE cruise control isnt that bad once your use to it.. Its not as simple as the Ford stuff but it still works!!!

Cant beelive they put the basic aircon in.. Atleast the GS gets the upmarket stuff!

Mainly because Ford don't have a 'Base Aircon' any more. It is climate or nothing in FG.

If they are it is a good move, their cut price model even gets reasonable brakes.

Seems like a decent car, looks horrlble but LS3 at SSV Pricing is a good move..

Man would you be ****ed if you just got the pontiac "Update" SS.

If it is a grab for investment tax allowance driven sales they have left their run pretty late. A small point but I'm not surprised to see Dowling include a link to the FPV GS story but not to the SS-V special edition one.

Having used up the Pontiac bumpers it is only natural they would want to get rid of the badges as well I suppose.

Trev - the GS was 5k cheaper than the GXP which ought to cover the Brembo brake option

HSV have never been about subtlety have they? But when Ford do it, it's "wild" and "crazy"....

This thing is just overdone, and in doing so proves that methodology doesn't always imply beauty...

Lots of people think the design is great, myself I don't mind it, took a while, had to see a black one on the road LOL.

Carsales says this isn't a reposnse to the GS as it was penned in before Ford announced the GS.

They look like crap.
I've seen a few around now and they look a little longer in the front bar then the S1 did maybe because of the fairy lights in the front.

Now imagine if you have an SS on order and this pops up! Mind you I would prefer the SS over the E2 in looks ..... but for Holden nutters, this would be just a little bit hard to swallow!

MY mate paid more for his SSV ute at launch of VE, than the GPX Maloo will sell for now.

He will be pleased...

I don't mind it in silver, but then that's photos so it may look better than in person.

it still looks like a busted A$$ like 99% of all crappadores do...
but it will sell.... not cause its good value...but because people believe any tripe the GM throws their way...then 6months to a year down the track the will be traded in on a Daewoo as its better build quality will outshine the crappadore

Looks rubbish. I hate the E2 front end design/left over parts from a soured pontiac relationship/excess stock/rejected parts bin. Might work on the americans but looks like garbage here. Can you believe that most crappodores have chevrolet badges because Holden has excess stock of them from their former GTO contract that went balls up?

Looks like ****. I hate the Pontiac that they've put on the commodores. SS was actually a pretty good car, who in their right mind would buy the Pontiac special? This thing is certainly a performance bargain though, and they didn't even drop the power at all.

Actually, when you look at the aesthetics of it and that hideous front end, you could name the ute based on what it sort of is, Maloo; and the new lesser model Morepoo.

Cover it in 24 carrot gold, make the rims from some out of this world alien metal alloy that weighs 2 grams per rim, go back to the future, hit a button so it runs on lawn mower clippings and dog ! It's still a STUPID OVERRATED COMMODORE.
