Hi
If the block happens in 5 years time or so plan to put cabin there and won’t be going on grid. Plan to have the lights, pumps, fridge and fans on 12/24 volt and use a 600/800w 240v inverter for laptop chargers, camera chargers and some other low powered devices and have the inverter wired to a few power points in cabin so those things work. And use a generator for the aircon and battery charger to charge up the batteries on cloudy days for a few hours. Also with shed use 12/24v for lights and fans and stuff and low powered 240v devices and a generator for heavy power tools. For the inverter what battery voltage would you suggest? 24v? Or 48v? You can buy 24-12v stepdown for each 12v device so you could use one step down for 12v led lights and another for cig lighter plugs and obviously a fuse for each step down or circuit so you don’t draw more than rating. But can you buy a 48-12v stepdown from local shop or do you have to specially order it on. Is 24v ok or would you go 48v and buy stepdown transformers, what voltage would you suggest. Thanks |
