Default Is this fake or real?

I've just enquired about an XR6 ute ad this is the email I've gotten back from the seller once the add was removed from carsales. Can anyone tell me if this is a fake or not?

Hi,

The car is still for sale. It is in excellent condition in and out. The engine runs great. No funny noises. There is no outstanding finance on the car, also the car comes with a full service history and RWC.
The last price, including door to door delivery, is $7,000.
The car was advertised on eBay as well and prefer to close this transaction only though eBay for our own protection. We will use eBay Buyer Protection Program (BPP) which will hold the payment until you receive the car.Your funds will be 100% insured by eBay. In this way both of us will start the deal with good faith so we can take it to a smooth end. You will have 5 days inspection period, so you'll be able to see and inspect the car before buying it. If you don't like the car after inspection or is not as I've describe it, you can reject the deal.
I love this car and I am very upset at having to sell it. It has served me well but I just moved to High Wycombe, WA and I can't afford to keep it and I need the money fast so I can pay off some debts.
If you are interested in this car please provide me the following details in order to start the transaction through eBay :

-Your Full Name and Shipping Address
-Your eBay ID
-Any negative feedback and if so .... for what reason .

I'm looking forward to hear from you.

Cheers,
Michael Roebuck

Can't afford to keep it, living in High Wycombe? LOL I live in High Wycombe and it's not exactly an 'expensive' suburb.

Is the car supposedly IN High Wycombe? I can do a drive-by.

I've just emailed back just for a laugh and see what BS he comes up with. I asked where exactly he is located so I can view the ute. Now we play the waiting game heheh.

I can't believe people still fall for them or even remotely believe them either.

It's been done to death. People here have e-mailed the scammers for "fun" and all the generic replies have been over this forum for the last couple years.

The joys of buying or selling a car! I get at least one of these types of offers whenever I've sold a car in the last few years...

Not all are fake though.
The last couple of cars i have bought privately, i just sent a car carrier to Melbourne to pick them up for me.
never seen the seller face to face and only rang them if i had to.
So, not all are scammers, just most of them.

I can't see the problem, go and see the car, if you like it, buy it. If he is saying pay for the car sight unseen, and he'll deliver it, well...... you have to be mad, I wouldn't do that even from a 'reputable' car dealer.

Just to ask - is there a similar one with BUYING on paypal?

My old man is selling his boat (matrix sorrento) had it on boatpoint for about $50k or so, the next day got 2 emails saying they will buy it, sight unseen for the asking price if they can pay into his paypal account. Seemed a bit odd - we asked if they could make a bank transfer instead and they said they do not have internet banking, but for some reason have paypal linked to a card?
