Default xr8 towing

can anyone please tell me the correct automatic transmission setting to use when towing. i presume it would be economy but i am not too sure

Power mode would be best so that the engine has a few more revs and doesn't labour too much. Also depending on the weight you are carrying and your cruising speed, you are best to drive in 3rd so that the box is driving 1:1. Much better for the auto's longevity.

Economy is the correct mode to use - it's in the Owner's manual for anyone wanting to have a read. But a 3.8m tinny isn't going to cause you any harm either way. Towing anything over 1500kg it is always good to manually get out of OD as soon as you start to load up on a hill etc.

Agreed. Don't use cruise control as Ford's excitable CC will kick it back to 2nd
