Who's to say the the idot driving the VL wasn't rich, after all "money" its all relative......

and just maybe the dad's bending the truth too, the keys were really "stolen" , thus covering up for his son, rich people do that sort I thing.

Wow....that's quite a talent you've got there RG....being able to tell me what I think from just a couple of posts. Is there a course I can take to learn that stuff?

You'll note that the actual incident was only half of my point. The other half was related to the crappy newspaper. I too am surprised that this has generated so much discussion. That's what I get for coming to the pub. Best that I just stick to the real car forums perhaps.

In the same way that I used your post as an example rather than directing it at you?

I wasn't having a go bloke. More so semi agreement.

Right-O. I'll go with the semi-agreement and apologise for being so sensitive.

Unfortunately we've just added two more posts to this nearly pointless thread.

I think you will find Robin Hood is English. Kevin Rudd is from Queensland. Neither is Irish. If you wish to start throwing stereotypes around, why not have a go at Muslims? Or the Aboriginals? Or Europeans? Why do you have to imply the Irish are stupid? Unecessary, completely off topic and a poor reflection on you. Three misses in one post, well done.

"Unecessary, completely off topic"??? We must be playing 6 degrees of relevance??

Why not?

I know for a fact if my parents owned a Veyron they'd let me drive it...I'm 22.

I bet you'd sing a different tune if it was say mum and dads volvo...The car, age and financial position are irrelevent.

Quite simply, the young fella took the car out for a strap and got busted. Boo Hoo, right?

Ummm....yes and no....I think. This is starting to get humorous! There might be some entertainment value in the thread after all.

To answer the question, I would have sung a different tune about mum & dad's Volvo, but the second part about it being irrelevant has confused me. I didn't realise that the Volvo was in the same class as a Veyron. They must have come a long way since the boxy cars that I remember.

A.) Volvo has come a very long way.

B.) To some people the price of a Veyron is pocket change. Those people are called Veyron owners.

Being a past sponsor of F1 teams..and having that sort of money..I'm thinking the Father and Son have driven cars with some serious grunt before being busted in the Veyron. But point taken..when I get my Veyron don't let my boys drive it...got it!!
