I was driving to work this morning and drove past the Ford dealer around the corner (in Wollongong) and I noticed out the front, there was this big bloody F Series Truck, had to be at least an F250 from the size of the cab and everything else.
My question is though, since when have dealers been selling these in Australia? I thought you could only import them? And it was definitely either brand new or extremely new because it was the current shape

They are definatelly selling new ones in WA at the car yards.
I noticed the other week while i was looking for my XR8 ute that one of the car dealers was selling brand new F350 Super Duty trucks! It was a tough decision to make, but unfortunatelly the bank balance wouldnt allow me to buy one of those!!!!!!!!

This company imports F-Series trucks and converts them to RHD. Unless you mean the ones imported by Ford in the early 2000s, but you did say current shape, so it must have been a private import. |

Melton Suzuki here in Victoria specialises in Ford F series utes, quite expensive though, range from around $135,000-$150,000,

Barbagallo as far as I knew was one of the only places you could get a new F-series in WA. Seen a few around down south here.
Definitely overly expensive!! Around $80,000 more expensive here than in the USA! Insanely overpriced! They're great trucks. But I don't find the newer ones as appealing as the older models, the ones that were sold new in Australia by dealers for a few years between 01ish and 06. My uncle bought a 2005 F250 XLT dual cab brand new, with the legendary 7.3L V8 diesel! Apparently known as the most reliable of the F series engines. I reckon it sounds louder and better than the newer motors as well. Not hugely a fan of how refined the new trucks are becoming. The new 6.7 diesel is too quiet in my opinion. Also I'm not a massive fan of the newer styling of the front of the trucks, doesn't look as tough as the older ones. the bodywork from the grille backward is starting to look a little aged IMO, and I reckon Ford need a complete redesign next... Even if you wanted one of the older trucks, they're still worth mostly upwards of $60k! Many are at $80k still used. Meanwhile in America....... $20,000 will get a very nice one. |
