Default September 11. Remember those who died.

Today marks the 12th anniversary of the tragic September 11 attacks. Such a terrible day in history. Please keep this thread civil.

Hard to believe its been 12 years.
That horrifying sight of people jumping or falling out of the windows is something I will never forget.

I remember it so clearly

My son was still waking through the night for feeding and the routine was for me to change his nappy and my wife would set herself up for the feed, I turned on the TV as it used to line up with Walker Texas ranger every night, and I saw a plane go into the first tower, I thought wow what movies this, then Sandra Sully came on crying

I went and saw the 911 memorial on a recent trip to New York. It is very well done, classy and not over the top.

Here are a few photos:

Was so sad to see these scattered around the place.

True heros in my opinion

Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing *wiping tears again*

*sigh*
Flags flown half staff, candlelight memorials, memorial walks.......and a time for everyone to reflect. It was a solemn day to say the least.

I tried to watch some tv last night and it was everywhere; all of the videos and the raw footage taken by people who were right there as it happened. I felt the shock all over again. The same images frozen in my memory, I saw again. The people who decided to jump, the damage, the fear, the lives taken by horrific attack. And then the survivors of our first responders, our heroes. I couldn't help but feel their sadness and I sat and cried. Yes, 9/11 is a day that we will never forget.

Thank you for this thread.

It's now a part of our history.

Nice pix Sgt...how long ago was that?

I was there last year with only the pools opened, not the museum and the tower was only about half done. It was a cold winters day as well, sure looks nicer with trees and blue sky.

I went last November to New York and got to go and see this memorial.
What got me was there were 5 young women's names and unborn babies, so sad. :(

A few families in planes as well and quite a few middle eastern style names as well, so terrible an end for these people.
