i agree it looks very similar to a dell pc hehe...i am not really into the consoles, much prefer to play games on the PC.

I'll admit that I don't like consoles, however the appearance of it would have little to do with my decision to buy it. Instead, i'd think about the games that run on it, the controller and the market support.

And regarding the fact that Xbox owners cant play Gran Turismo... then i recommend you try 'Forza'. Just came out on Xbox and its f*cking tops!! Ive played both and im leaning towards Forza for playability and more modification options etc...

It does look crap ( I prefer the ps2) but for those who want a GT4 rival, Forza Motorsport is meant to be getting a good rap.

I has damage mode & online play which GT4 doesn't(i don't think gt4 has online play ?? I've never checked....) and from reviews www.gamespy.com it only suffers due to a bad soundtrack and not as appealing graphics. Gameplay tho is meant to be tops !

i used to think that way, but there are games that arnt real good for playing on pc, and there are games that arnt real good for console.
I play games on both, but my xbox costed me only a tiny fraction of what my pc costed, so i think you have to take that into consideration. $1000s of dollars for a bit better graphics? i dont think its worth it any more, especially when the next xbox and playstation are going to have multi cored cpus, plus im so sick of having to upgrade my pc every 6 months to play the latest games, atleast with a console, its guarenteed to last atleast 3-4 years

looks like a white version of the Dell computers we have here at work..
supposed to have HUGE processing capabilities though (let's just hope it isnt just a rework of a desktop pc like the original!)

The original XBOX had a 733MHz Celeron256 CPU in it with 64MB of RAM and a 32MB GeForce 2 Ti... I wonder what the new one's got? P4 3.0GHz, 512MB of RAM and a 256MB GeForce 6800GT perhaps?

XBOX IS a PC. I don't see the point in buying one.

Personally, i'm sick of all you GT series fanboys. I've played it, no damage, no online play = no fun at all. I mean, it's supposed to be the "real" sim, and it doesn't even have damage, you can bounce off walls to win the race.

Forza Motorsport on the Xbox however has all of the above. Online play is where it's at, you can buy and sell cars, race opponents on the drag strip and if you tag the wall mid race, you feel the consequences of it.

Call me an Xbox fanboy if you will, but the facts say otherwise.

try a IBM powerPC 3 core cpu running @ 3.2gighz each!! its going to be way faster then any pc at a fraction of the price, is that enough reason for you?

im a ps2 fan, but to be honest, i wouldnt call GT4 a driving sim. they shouldnt advertise it as 1....yeah its fun, but no damage sucks so bad its not even funny....and this forza motorsport sounds awesome...and probably has ferraris etc in it?

Forza is streets ahead of GT4. Much better physics, a very good damage model, better exotics, exceptionally better AI but best of all, online play!

There's only so long attempting to shave off 1/10 of a sec off your best time remains appealing when you can jump online and have class racing and race against real opponents!

Slam into a wall at 200kph in GT4 and you bounce off and continue going, do it in Forza and it's race over.

As for the xbox looking like a PC, the current xbox already looks like a PC inside! I'm looking forward to the 360 and I'll probably also get the PS3 as well. I'm wondering how they're going to price them though.

Sure does. 16 of them from memory. I have 4. ;) I bought my tricked up Enzo online from a guy who tuned it and didn't want it any more!

I'm not a fan of either consoles... until now.

You can forget your PC's for years to come.. these consoles have it all over the PC now.

Intel are only now looking at multi core for the Pentium, and it's only 2 cores... this is the way to overcome the frequency wall they've hit. Thing is they need developers to take advantage of this.... they want them developing in multi core code NOW...!!!! i see them falling behind considerably now.

XBOX360 has 3 cores, PS3 has 8!!!!

XBOX360 will be OK, much better than any PC, PS3 will obliterate it though in terms of power.

Rumours are about that the PS3 will be around 50,000 yen, which is nearly US$475, so expect it in AUS for around $700-$800....???
