Trigger Warning. The following comment may depict or suggest acts of suggested violence against fictional animals.

My favourite was the TV ad released on Sunday evening after a Bathurst win which had the Lion getting a whipping and leaving the Ford bosses office and walking down the corridor rubbing his bum!

A couple of things very likeable in the above ad:

- That it was advertising the Falcon, yet showed a Fairmont - the differentiation wasn't an issue.
- The fully-optioned, or best possible, interior shot shown
- The very rare factory-installed air-con, with extra vents noticeably added in. That would have have been the bee's knees back then.

Why was it easier for car manufacturers back then to offer more engine and colour options than they do now?

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I don’t remember pre AU ute ads, but ever since AU Ford always nailed ads for the Ute as opposed to the rest of the ‘We Have Ignition’ and beyond campaigns.

Yeh I would, from what I understand, deep down he is a Ford man. He made the best moves for his career as anyone would chasing $$$ and maybe better teams, cant blame him for that.

I remember my dad bringing these Ford News home from work. Kinda wish we'd have kept them now. They stopped doing them around the early 2000's from what I recall.

I remember watching that race ... was a ripper of a first 12-hour race at Bathurst.

At least these cars were pretty much production cars rolled off the showroom floor (with some slight enhancements
