Default Calder Freeway - north bound watch out for pot holes

Anyone travelling north bound on the Calder Freeway in the next few days, just a warning, take it easy and watch for the pot holes!

It seems the severe weather has caused havoc on the road surface. HUGE pot holes at various stretches right up to Kyneton. Quite hard to pick up when the speed limit is 110kmh. Vicroads were trying to patch up bits and pieces this morning, but I think there is its going to be too many to do adhoc patch ups, they may need to close off sections to get it done properly.

It's even worse on the Eastern side of the mountain, anyone going between Sunbury and Heathcote the road is absolutely toasted and has been for months, they've fixed it by reducing the speed limit from 100 down to 60

Yeh I think speed reduction might be the way to go until they fix it up. They didn't have them set up this morning, just a couple of trucks doing the temporary speed thing whilst a couple of poor sods tried to do patch ups with a shovel

Wouldn't want to drive through it at night that's for sure!

Thanks for heads up. Don't normally travel that way much, but will be going to Bendigo next weekend with the family so I will be weary of them.
