Its all up the **** apparently because according to the TDCUK forums, if you look up your VIN on Ford ETIS:

If it says Euro IV it won't have a DPF, if it says Euro IV + DPF then it will.

They also have inlet manifold differences, non DPF car has a single big pipe going into the inlet manifold, DPF car has an inverted Y with two smaller pipes going to it.

Unless Australia's MK2 Focus' are different from the ones they have in Europe.
