Could it be that the Fuel Pump Relay is bad? or the EEC Relay? have you also checked the Fusable links with a Multi-meter to see if they are ok? Very handy tool is a Multi-Meter?

They are notorious for causing trouble?

Does it attempt to fire? or does it just turn over and over?

Does the fuel pump cycle when you first turn it on. mine didnt & it was the Fuel pressure reg.
Got an adjustable & no dramas since

What 4.0L is it? AU/EF engine or E-series?

Try the ignition coil. If it has a distributor, replace that, TFI modules and Hall effect sensors are prone to letting go

its an eseries 4.0L. There is plenty of spark there i can tell u that so thats not a problem. the mechanic had it on his machine and it was reading way above average with the fuel flow then what it should be. he has tested everything and it all seems fine. do you guys think that if the injectors were stuffed it would cause it to overfuel. thats the only thing that hasent been tested.

The injector valves could be sticking open for too long, flooding the cylinders. Try unplugging an injector at a time and cranking it.. Fk I dunno lol Pull the rail off with the injectors and swap them over for a another fuel rail + injectors.
