Default Price of service items

Looking at picking up a set of plugs and new air filter for the VCT Ghia this weekend, and was wondering who can recommend which brands I should be looking at and where from ?

Not interested in any 'performance' makes, just 'Motorcraft' quality OEM parts to go with the new Oxy sensor going in this weekend !

Am I best off just heading down to Repco and buying there, or do Ford do reasonably priced standard service items like that ?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated !

Plugs from either Ford, Repco, Supercheap etc, etc will be around the $4 each mark so no mega savings to be had there. Go the standard NGK v-groove items and change them each year. Cheap and easy to do!

Ford will charge much more for an air filter than the others, which should cost you about $30 odd bucks.

Well, thought I'd support the local motor factors where the trade shop, and came away with the correct spec NGK plugs for $3.83 each, an air filter for $13 and a bottle of 3 shot Wynn's injector cleaner for $10.95 !

Almost worth starting a build thread with that huge list of 'modifications' ... how sad I'm getting excited about fitting these today, along with the new Oxy sensor. It is so rare I get the time to fiddle with the car anymore.

Am probably going to pull out the electric window switches and clean them up too, and then finish the whole thing off with an ECU reset.

Fingers crossed for better fuel economy next week!

OK, all went well apart from slicing the skin off two fingers when pulling off plug lead number one - the moulding around the power steering reservoir is very very sharp on the underside......

Brimmed the tank and put shot of injector cleaner in, reset the ECU, reset the ODO, reset the AVG L/100KM, and will keep a sharp eye on proceedings to see if this has made any difference to fuel consumption !

Cheers.

Good one Andy, it's great to get the hands on the car isn't it?
