A rather strange problem I have with the XR8 is the throttle sticking. Once the car has either warmed up or given a boot ful, the throttle sticks once I have released the pedal. When I put my foot down, I need to use a little force to get it unstuck, which can cause quite a rough ride!
A soon as I shut the engine down and it stops winding over, the throttle frees up and is back to normal! I removed the throttle cable and cruise control cable an tried moving the throttle arm by hand and had the same problem until the engine shut down. I read another thread earlier about the same problem and the harmonic balancer was mentioned, so changed that as well, but no success. Iv given the throttle body a clean and a lube as well. And as a reminder, it's perfectly fine when the engine is cold or has been sitting a little while. None of the sensors on the throttle body are causing it to stick either as I had the removed when the engine was running. I'm at the point of pulling the throttle body of and pulling it apart for a good clean. If that doesn't fix it then who knows?!

So after winding the idle screw in a little, it made the problem a little better, but it was still there enough to **** me off, and after a little thought, I came to the conclusion that it must be an air pressure sort of thing, causing the butterfly valve closed!
So then I wet searching for a loose vacuum hose thanks to b2tf! Turned out that the PCV hose was half hanging out. Something I wouldn't have thought would cause such a problem, but anyway, thankfully it's gone!

Glad you solved it. I've had it happen to me before with the last ute and I found the hose hanging out of the back of the manifold which is a real bugger to get back in, hence my thinking it may have been something along those lines.
Now that you've fixed it, I'll give you $3k for the car
