Default Chinese Bearings

Between 2009-2011 Chinese customs stopped over 2 million counterfeit bearings leaving China and going to 50 countries

For example , bearings with SKF written on them , but they are not SKF

Try it yourself , a file will pretty well skate over 60 Rockwell C , but the counterfeit will tend to be cut or filed as its usually softer

You may be rolling on counterfeits now and grease and seals ,

If you bought from an Authorised Bearing supply Dealer,

yes they have been found to supply counterfeits

They have been put in F1 transaxles , what do you think happened?

I wonder if you'd have a leg to stand on, if a bearing failed and it was counterfeit. Could you sue the bearing company?

XBROO , sue - definitely , any retailer is bound by the ACCC rules , and you are not required to chase after the original manufacturer . Goods must be " FIT FOR PURPOSE " and if they have failed because sub standard you get your money back and you may even get any loss as in if vehicle breaks down and requires a tow , that cost should be covered . Best not to rely on this in any event check bearings with file and don't fit if in doubt and get your refund.
