Which team do you believe will win Bathurst this year?
(Mod's I know this should be in "The Pits" but more will see it here).

As long as its a Ford I dont care. Going to be very interesting to see if Skaife has real pace. He certainly didn't at Phillip Island and he couldn't blame the car this time as Tander was quick in the same car............

Tander / Skaife. If a Ford is to win would like it to be Bright/ Marshall.

Anybody but Tander/Skaife or Rick 'my balls are in my stomach' Kelly. Oh and Greg Murphy too, but I don't think he is much of a risk...

I dont think there is a standout team that has it in the bag at this stage. As said, anything WILL happen on the mountain.

However, I did pick 888 to win, but I will happily be proven wrong for FPR or DJR to take it out.

All the talk has been either Tander/Skaife or Lowndes/Whincup but I'll back the FPR pairings just to spice it up a bit.

Bit hard to type through the tears of laughter about Bright/Marshall winning but I'll have a shake...

Lowndes/Whincup to win (there is no enduro pair in their stratosphere) and Lowndes SHOULD bring the car home. The 888 boys can maintain speed in their car longer than anyone else and having Whincup as your #2 driver sure means the down laps will be pretty shiny.

You'd be a true optimist to believe anyone can beat them if they get a clean run.

This might sound a bit left of field, but I'm thinking Van gisbergen/Courtney might give
it a red hot go.

Other than that I hope the 888 boys get thier hat trick!

i voted for FPR!

Remember FPR was heading for a win last year but frosty lost control at the end of Conrod (hit a slippery patch i beilive?) and team vodafone snatched 1st

BUT it is Bathurst, and anything can happen...

As much as I don't like DJR/JBR, I think it's their time. Other than that, any Ford team will do, but the FPR pair and Vodafone pair would be my favourites. Oh, and don't forget Skaife!

I agree with everything there, except that Whincup is the #2 driver - I think Lowndes is the number 2 driver this year, given the championship standings.

I reckon we should put bets on how often 'WATTS LINKAGE' will be mentioned thruout the weekend from Cromley.

I estimate a total of 36 times.

Points = yep. Lowndes season was effectively over in Adelaide when Captn Crunch ended it for him. The whole season since then has been about Whincup... but whilst Whincup is fast, Lowndes is as fast. If Lowndes ever learns to qualify a car he might give Whincup a nudge. CL has atleast as much race pace as any of the young guns.

Agreed! never write off lowndsey, esp in a big event like this. roland dane when interviewed recently gave lowndes a big wrap as a racer. regardless of what he's in he'll generally move forward and bring it home.

fpr will be let down by richo's lack of consistant pace. he just seems to have too many 'moments' and lacks the outright pace of frosty.

djr will be strong as will sbr but i also think 888 are a cut above.

look out for garry rogers to have the leading holden.

If it rains sunday then Lowndes/Wincup by a decent margin. If its a full dry race I think it could go any way between 888, DJR, FPR and HRT (as much as I hate to admit it).

Doubt you would put real money on that combo, nose man isnt driving the best,,
But you never know with a snoz like his,if they pull out the windscreen at the last pit stop it may just be enough to win it by a nose from 3rd place..
