OK I'll own up, I voted for Sydney Wagga and ACT but the best is the middle depending how many are coming from where ?
While you guys camp I'll be at the nearby hotel if overnight.

Wagga is basically the meeting place of Olympic Highway, Hume Highway and Sturt Highway if that helps.

Dunno about camping though, I think we can do a bit better than that! :hihi:

I think that there will probably need to be 2 barbeque days. One somewhere around Sydney and one somewhere around Melbourne. 1000kms or even 500kms is a long way to travel for a barbeque. Maybe have an 'AU Falcon BBQ Day' with a couple of events going on simultaneously.

If people want a camping trip please feel free to organise it but it wont replace the annual BBQ.

I suspect 2 bbq's will happen this year to cover the obviously growing membership.. not a bad thing at all

I thought Albert park was great, although another BBQ unit would be needed.
The only problem with Albert park was its availability during the year

Did it last year ... a few of us Sydneysider drive to icy cold Melbourne ... just for the BBQ. And headed to a few other places as well ... and ate plenty of food inbetween.

I'll give Melbourne one thing ... restaurants are bloody good down there.

It's as close to me as Sydney ;)

How many au members are there?

Maybe it will get to the stage where there will be annual individual state meetings and a national meeting on a rotating venue basis.

I put Adelaide/South Australia thinking I'd be different, but there were 2 votes there already. Really a time and date will dictate if I can come. I'm always looking for an excuse to hit the road. Anyone from SA welcome to join me if we go interstate and I can come.
Saying that, Albury/Wodonga or melb itself would be nice

If you count the votes for the states, Victoria is in the lead with Phillip Island the likely location.

Why can't the annual bbq be mobile ? halfway between Syd/Melb would still get a great roll up.

we drove all the way down there last year, seems only fair its up here this year.

and going by the votes that looks like the most popular decision anyway, followed closely by having it half way.....and this idea would have to please a wider group than any of the others

why should only casper do it? you talk about him as if he is the king of AU Falcons, and he would be the first to say he isnt. Anybody can organise this and any other event.

please, feel free to organise it. I'm more than happy for others to do it too. aufalcon.com is for everyone, I have no greater say than anyone else in the end.
