if its an aftermarket tacho eg auto meter i would presume its the same as always to the negative (-) of the coil. If its the tacho in the cluster i wouldnt have the foggist.

assuming your talking about a moster tacho type item, then usually it goes to the negative of the coil pack under them bonnet, thats how my old tach hooked up... use a multi meter, the negative should change readings in ac volts as you rev the engine...

negative on the coil, well theres the earth wich earth to the egine, im pretty sure the negative would be in the plug that plugs on the back of the coil under the intake manifold, best use a hoist too so much easier to deal with coils on flacons from underneath

There is a little wire which runs from the distributor to the coil...It has a connector about halfway alog..You could take a feed from there as that is the negative you are looking for.
Be aware there are some after maarket tacho that have to be connected to an auxillary feed line up near the brake booster rather than the coil.
Have fun

There is a pink wire from memory which ends up in a loom near your brake booster. Its a diagnostic loom which isn't used, so you can normally just hook into that....nice and easy.
