It is supposed to compete head to head with the Nissan GTR so I suspect it will be in that range.

If it is 40 gazillion dollars it will be ignored as a billionaire's toy like Koenigsegg et al.

I'll be interested in the weight.

They are trying to beat the GTR's `ring time.

It sounds pretty awesome, but the $400K price tag is absolutely crazy _

They have been seing these in Spy shots for years now.

Shame it hasn't got the Supra badge though...

Damn ... the vids so far are pretty amazing.
It's definitely more Supercar than the GT-R though.

It's definitely going after the higher end super cars for sure.
Will be interesting to see road tests on this and comparisons.

The exhaust note is simply amazing.

A little squarer than the R8, but in my opinion a top effort.

If money was no object to me then I wouldn't object to having one of those in my massive garage.

Its been fully developed by Lexus, so its not a Toyota, even though Toyota owns Lexus. Calling it a Toyota is like calling an Aston Martin DB9 a Ford because Ford owned Aston when it was first sold.

New design for the front bar looks too much like a Supra but.

Huh?

Lexus isnt just some asset that Toyota owns..its their flagship...luxury division.

Cars like the Lexus LS400 which are sold overseas are/were labeled as Toyota Celsior in the domestic market.

Its HQ is at Toyota, a large portion of its cars are/were/will still be assembled at Toyota plants.

It is true however that since 2005 they design and engineer their own products separately from the parent company, and now sell as Lexus even in Japan.

But the DNA running through the company is still Toyota through and through, and Ford + aston martin analogy isnt quite right here.

I'd take a Corvette ZR1 over it any day. Call me a badge snob, but it's still a Toyota at the end of the day, and Toyota's are boring.

9,000RPM redline direct injection V10 in a 65% carbon fibre body. It could be styled to look like Al Gore and even under threat of torture I couldn't call it boring.

Well I guess we'll have to wait and see. Boring may not have been the best choice of word. Clinical maybe? It looks great on paper, but whether it is as good to drive as a GT3 RS for example remains to be seen. I for one would not spend the money (if I had it), or even consider it because of the badge. It could lap the ring in 7 min dead and it'd still be a Toyota at the end of the day.

Ford has a whole lot more history and heritage than toyota. First production line, first mass produced v8, First to sell 1 million cars are just 3 that come to mind straight away

edit: more came to mind -
first hardtop convertible
first pony car (muscle car)

They also have a rich racing history

As I said before, at the end of the day, it's still a Toyota. Lexus is the premium brand for those who don't like cars.

Same reason why maccas sells the most burgers?

Typical Toyota, it looks like ****, that engine sounds like a weapon though.
