Default DTE & Fuel Gauge reading empty with full tank

My DTE and fuel guage keeps reading empty even after half filling the tank. Its like its stuck on Zero and beeps all the time.
Im assuming it has something to do with removing the boot carpet as it started straight after we did this.
This has happened in the past a couple of years ago (Again from removing the carpet) but then just one day fixed itself????
Any ideas please on where to start? Thanks

But in this day & age would $20 of fuel even move the gauge up at all?

Noticed mine does the same thing, my dte reads at 80 when it shows quarter of a tank, which it usually registers at 200, cluster must be on its way out

Mine registered at Zero at all times....It must have something to do with removing the carpet, is there a switch or something that could of come loose in the boot? This is what happened last time...Just dont know how it fixed itself...

Sounds like a dodgy connection to your fuel sender ... a dodgy sender ... or a dodgy float.

At least yours is say it is empty.

Mind at one point said I had 200km left to go .... but was actually dead empty ... I managed to roll into a servo ... only to find the servo didn't have an LPG pump ... spewing.
