Question Muffler, Power & silence?

I know it sounds like a compromise! But everywhere else I have looked through the forums everyone is speaking about loud mufflers, not me. What is a good performing muffler with a relative quiet note for the Au?(using a 2.5 exhaust) thanks

I know where your coming from I have pacemaker extractors 2.5 with redback centre muffler & had my stock rear one fitted back up with the ends made to fit the 2.5 pipes. When I had it done they fitted a small hotdog res which to some is music but coming from a dead quiet car it got to me. I had second thoughts of driving around with to much noise its OK now to me anyway.

I actually went to the muffler shop to get this exact thing done, I got a lukey muffler on mine. down low cruising you can notice the burble - but when you boot it, it doesn't scream like the many V6 commo's around.

If you are on the coast - See Ian at carline miami - thats where i got mine done and it looks great with the BA tip - he has done all our family's cars - my brother just got his XR8 done there last week. - Ian knows his stuff and he's honest about what sounds good and what doesn't.

I have a full redback cats back system on the wagon. Whe you buy it, you get the choice of no rear muffler, or a rear muffler - I chose the muffler option as it is a family wagon and didn't want anything too loud. It sounds slightly louder than stock, but has no drone at all. I am very happy with it - more importantly, so is the boss!

On Ebay (click here somewhere) for $350 plus around $30 delivery. Easy to fit yourself.

cArSik - What extractors are you getting. Be careful with the VCT - the only extractors that haven PROVEN to make a positive differenceto the VCT are the JMM race series. Pacies will still get you more torque, but no increase in power (in same cases a decrease). The 2.5" redback system should be good for it too - it's not press bent so stays 2.5" all the way along!
