Default AU Alloy Rim Size?

Below is a picture of a AU XR 16'' inch alloy, i need to know what is the exact width of this alloy?
if you are 100% sure, your help would be much appreciated.

7 inch wide....100%
Both the 16" and 17" rims on the AU were 7" wide.

Can just make it out on the scan in the Exterior section:

The series 2 had 17X8 in the tickford style & I thought the XR Tickford style series 1 were 17X8 as well.

Correct for the 16", but not for the 17".

16 x 7 - Falcon S/XR6 rims
17 x 8 - XR8 rims.

Not for the first time, the brochure is incorrect.

Wheels FORD FALCON AU II XR8
Rim material Alloy
Front tyre description 235/45 ZR17
Rear tyre description 235/45 ZR17

I was only referring to the AU1 rims. Now you got me thinking. I might have to take one of my rims off to have a look. I always thought it was 7" as well.

Casper - I 100% guarantee they are a 17 x 8. If not, then this is my last post on these forums - cos if I don't know that, then I know nothing!

The 17's are definately 8". I fit tyres to them on regular occations & rim width info is required for balancing.

I concur with buickman, JCXR8 and AUXRVIII. I had the AU1 Tickford 17" on my AU XR8 and they're definitely 8" wide.

So the brochure is incorrect..naughty naughty Ford.
I want to put a 16x255 M/T drag radial on the AU 16''.
I was hoping for the AU 16'' to be at least 7.5''.
Toyota Celica 5 stud, they have a 16''x8'' and i have been told the offset may be the same as the AU, BA. What worries me will the centre hole fit.

not sure if thats the right combo with 8 " rims but it sure gives the car a meaner looking profile.

As for best handling/performance the wider the tyre, even though it fits, doesn't necessarily correspond to best handling. The rim tyre ratio width should not deviate by much or a rolling effect comes into play.

If it's just for the 1/4 mile and on the rear of the ute, I wouldn't think it's a big deal?? The center bore would be more important up front for steering wheel vibration reasons. By the way, Toyota Supra's have a 16"X9" factory alloy wheel ('93-'98). The offset is +50 from memory, but the PCD is the same as Ford. That's about 10mm further in than the Ford AU/BA offset (max of +40). But on the rear of the ute, it shouldn't matter I would think. Plenty of room under there. You could go 16X275 M/T's even.. just watch that the rubber doesn't rub on the inner side against the ute tub with the Supra 16X9.

Pic of wheel I'm referring to:

the centre bore must fit perfect, at 105 mph it's very important.
