Default Midnight express tint (Tint a Car) Thoughts

Since I am an apprentice, I got the student edge card which gives me discounts blah blah blah, However there is a Tint a car discount for the Midnight Express Tint.

Has anyone had their car tinted with midnight express tint, If so what were your thoughts?

Cheers Rob

edit: $295 for the tint

Tint is fine - it all depends how good the installer is really.

One of the first things I did when I purchased my Fairlane was to get Midnight express tint fitted.. Well worth I must say.. reduces the sunlight coming in heaps at the summer time and it is the darkest legal tint available..

I say go for it..

I will never own a car without tint and if I happened to purchased one that doesn't have any I would put Midnight Express tint to it.

Cya,
Alan.

I've had my AU falcon and VE commodore both done by tint a car with midnight express and I highly recomend it. My VE didn't have any tint on it before hand and would heat up pretty badly when left in the sun but the tint really helped that problem.

Can't fault tint a car on their service either, dropped off my car came back a couple of hours later and it was ready to go. They even gave me an australia wide warranty.

I had good experience with that tint on my EF a number of years back, no complaints at all.

Hi mate,

I had mine done at TKO in Victoria Park. A nice bunch of young blokes running it. Cost $350 for darkest legal with the old tinting removed and a lifetime warranty on tint and installation.

Another option for you anyway.

Cheers,

Ian

If you are in Victoria, Teppa's Tinting. Speak to Scott...end of the story...will probably be a bit cheap than tint a car as well..

Tint A Car are good.. I would recommend them... Like with anything just ask them for a quote on paper first.. the price you posted may or may not include labour etc..

midnight express

also midnight express on my old nl.

my old man just had it done on his IS250, couldn't say a bad word, the first installer had left little bubbles in the LH front window, was re-tinted with out argument and they even redid the RH rear window due to them not being happy with the set, all trims back in place and nothing damaged on all 3 cars.

speaking of tint, s.a. have recently decided to join the rest of the country on what is legally allowed on the front side windows. up until recently it was 70%vlt but they have now dropped it to 30% which i believe is similar to other states.

i've had and still have cars with much darker tint and never been hassled by mr plod.

as for midnight express and 'darkest legal', they are merely marketing terms for tint a car and not necessarily factual.

edit - sorry its now 35%

a couple of other things regarding window tint laws that i find a bit silly. you are only allowed to go to a certain level of 'blockout' but there are no laws prohibiting the use of window socks i believe.

also, there are no laws regarding the shading on glasses. i can legally wear sunnies that are a lot darker than any tint will be. i can wear them in combination with tint, making it twice as dark.

at least now s.a. is a little more realisitic. no one used to believe me before when i would tell them the minimum was 70%.

x2 for TKO, except mine was under $300 IIRC including tint removal.

I got darker than legal though, not sure if thats cheaper or not.

ive got 20% on my rear window. makes a small difference but nothing you would get picked up for.

darkest legal is 35%, i dont see why you cant tint a windscreen if you can wear sunglasses.. whats the difference?

You probably don't need any more convincing, but I had midnight express put on mine as soon as I got it (for around the same price). After 2.5 years, no problems whatsoever. Had it on my ute before that and all my brother tint with ME aswell. No probs with them either. I give it the big two thumbs up.
