Default 14 second pass

Well finally the old forte cracked the fourteens.Ran a 14.906 @ 92.78. My previous best was a 15.012 @92.49. Hopefully when she gets extractors the windsor can breath a little easier.Mods so far are cold air intake, unifilter and a lukey cat back zorst. Might try ultimate 98 next time instead of premium doh _2:

Is it manual or auto? Not bad time at all, but there are a few NA 6's around that will make you want extractors in a hurry.

15-20 at the tyres would be a reasonable expectation.

I reckon you would get more out of a decent set of extractors at this stage...even some OEM XR8 pipes would be a significant improvement on what came with the non-XR V8's.

Is the Lukey cat-back a single 3" or 2.5"?

Its actually got a lukey muffler and the standard rear section with the hotdog cut out,[ getting confused with my eb which has the cat back mandrel lukey 2.5.] Sorry bout that guys, so i guess it could be a 2.25 even. Did the XRs come with some sort of headers? could these compare to aftermarket examples or is it better to just get paceys or hms?

XR's came with "shorty" 4-1 headers, with either 1.5" or 1.625" primaries (cant remember).

If you can find a set someone is getting rid of for cheap, then they would be a good upgrade IMO. Do a search for the Hurricane extractors that a few of the T3 guys are running...that would probably be the best aftermarket option.

xr8 ute do you run aftermarket extractors? Is the exhaust the difference between a 175 forte and a 185 xr8 series 1

Yep, pretty much.

In order of best performing headers for the 5.0 for an AU:
AU2/3 220 XR8 headers
T3 standard headers (HM, I think)
Pacemaker 4-1
Pacemaker Tri-Y
Hurricane Tri-Y

Somehwere between the T3 and Paccies, you can slot in Genie, etc as these brands should be better than anything stock.

Also, a full twin 2" at least (2.25" twin is better), or single 3" (or 2.5" if on a tight budget) should be good as well.

Yeah, I've got the Pacey Comp 4-1 longtubes (PH4006). They are the same primary and collector size as the Pacey Tri-Y's (PH4001..?).

The main (only?) difference between the AU1 XR8 and the non-XR AU V8's was the extractors, cats, and cat-back exhaust.

I ran a 14.54@95mph with the stock exhaust before I swapped it out for the Pacey extractors, XForce cats, and 3" Lukey catback.
