Default Checking Kms on Cluster - Question.

Since its been a long time since i owned an AU, i have a question that has arisen about the cluster.
Are the Kms (odo) always displayed on the instrument cluster even when the ignition is off and the car is locked?

I think they are but cant remember 100%.
If they are not displayed, is there a way to display the Kms without having the keys - like pushing and holding the Odo reset button?
(Obviously the car would be unlocked first).
Thanks.
