If you're talking about just the shifter handle with the spring loaded button then yes it should be a straight swap.

No, it won't fit unless you replace the shifter mechanism as well. E series, AUs and B series all run different style shifters, and changing from one to the other is not that easy, though e series to AU is the easiest - you need the handle and button (obviously) and the shift stalk/frame that bolts to the trans tunnel. Linkages between e series and AUs are nearly identical from the base of the shifter mechanism.

Differences in mechanisms:

E series: shifter screws on to the shaft and has a metal actuator rod like X series.
AU: shifter slips onto shaft and is held on by one screw and has a plastic actuator rod.
B series: shifter screws on to shaft and uses a plastic actuator rod to move a cable, also the button is hinged at the bottom front of the shift handle (A and e series button is spring loaded and side activated).

Yes, I am positive, though you may need some small mods (cut the trans tunnel) to make the AU one fit, or at least drill some new holes. I have had an EL, an AU and fitted a B series shift handle to the EL and a complete BA shift assembly including cable and SSS electronics to the AU.
