hi everyone
my daily driver 87 laser carby just **** itself (no compression). im wondering if any of you have tinkered around with a 1.8 efi, trying to fit it to a carby model?? i know i'll have to get an ecu. but mechanical things like are the engine mounts the same? does the gearbox have the same stud patter? clutch? and so on... any info would be really appreciated thanks ben |

As long as the engine size is the same, it should bolt right in. With the box, not sure if the bellhousing is the same or not. But when you take it out, it will be as one assembly with box and motor together anyway. Just take the bell housing of the box and put it on the new motor to see first. Plus, fuel pump will need to be electric and not mechanical too.

they do make a 1.6i sohc for these ghia's have them. if your gonna do a 1.8 drop a BP in it 1.8 DOHC same as kf/kh tx3
