Default AU3 Chaser's 2nd dyno run

Hey all.

Dyno'ed the car again today - video will be up a bit later this arvo. I gotta get this damn exhaust fitted soon... mmm... new years resolution....

Got 125.5Kw (Down 1Kw since last time, but that could be anything, even the dyno). I also got my mate to run his AU1 Forte on the dyno too, and he pulled 120Kw with Pod and Exhaust...

Ok, quick question, and Im not trying to steal the thread.

Ive noticed that your curve is nice and smooth, while as mine is rather sketchy.

Does anyone know why? I know it was raining the day I got mine done, and the tyres may have been a little wet, but what actually causes the squiggleiness?

Nice number by the way, what mods are on it?

Well, the line is how much power your car puts out. If your tyres were wet, then they were most likely slipping on the dyno wheels, that or you need new leads and plugs... but more likely slipage...

None... yet... stock exhaust, stock exhaust manifold, repco airfilter, which i forgot to clean before then run (about 20k old)... and leads and plugs will be replaced in a few thou...

My xr8 was all squiggly aswell before chris(bluepower) worked his magic on it. It was all over the place like the mountains, now its just a nice smooth power and torque curve.
It could be in Chasers tuning, it must have a better tuning flash in the comp.
Shaun.

It’s caused by the flap in the t/b manifold once it opens it shows a dip in torque this can be tuned out with an aftermarket tuning device.
We seen the same thing on Hamo's AU, once chipped it was flattened out on the dyno sheet.

AU3 chaser. You are on the money for an au six with exhaust based on an average dyno..I have seen 120 to 125 rwkws forom similar cars with exhaust and extractors.Your air fuel ratios look pretty good too. If you do further mods go to the same dyno and dont tell them what youve done.

Monty..at 130 to 140 kmph the broadband manifold kicks in and the dip in power is typical of this. The other squiggly lines occur because the car wasnt strapped down right. Also up top at 150 to 160 kmph the squiggly lines indicate problems in leads or pinging. These both show squiggly lines around there.

Wonder if the cops had anything done to it prior ... or Ford might have used a different tune .... even for the detectives cars .... hence why your's is running better than others out there.

Dont take the dyno numbers absolute value too seriuosly.

They are really just a tuning tool at best and not even good at that if you are looking for small improvements.

The Police standard duty and detective cars were all standard tune stock cars that got thrashed like any company car or hire car.

Fair enough too, but comparing it to the AU just before me with pod and exhaust which got 5Kw less... its good to compare...

AFAIK, they didn't get any special tunes - just a few extra interior bits, higher diff, LSD, and suspension... well, at least this car anyway....
