Default MK2 2ltr Escort: Fuel tank annoying to fill

Hello,
It is the rear filling 56ltr'ish tank.
Does anyone else have problems with a stock setup, and the pump clicking off way too early?

If not, does it sound right that it would be the breather line not being able to pass enough air through it?

I've checked that it isn't blocked.
At one stage previous to my ownerage it has been cut and re-attatched to a new hose.

Would anyone mind posting up pictures of their breatherline setup such as how it's routed, and perhaps the size of the hose.

Any other suguestions welcome (-:

As of now I'm holding the nozzle a little way out of tank, and only slightly holding the triggure (it has happened with every pump i've tried, so i've eliminated it being a pump problem).

As I live in a busy area i'm a bit more concerned about the impatients getting angry it has taken me half an hour(slight exaggeration) to fill the tank up, but it would be nice to fill up with abit more ease.

i used to have a problem with a capri many years ago, someone had inserted an anti-syphon device into the tank - got another tank in the end - 2 litres of fuel - and then the rest would spurt back out all over my trousers - have to looked into the filler hole for any blockages?

Can't say I've ever had that problem with mine. Is this all the time or just when you try to fill it all the way to the top? I only ever put $30 or 3/4 fill as it spills out (on hard accelleration). The filler neck might be bent. When I got rear-ended, my filler neck was bent slightly and it does make it difficult to fill quickly.

I don't see any blockages/bends/abnormalies in it.
It happens all the time, regardless of how full the tank is.

used to happen to me. i just used a different nozzel angle stoped the problem

I'll give it a shot, there doesn't seem to be much room to move it around though.

I hold the nozzle at an angle to the side - rotationally, so the nozzle ejects onto the side of the filler pipe and not directly down into it. Also, I find some pumps are much higher flow than others so you have to regulate the flow to a "medium" rate.

before you fill up leave the cap off for 2 or three minutes to allow the pressure in the tank to release a little. Then try filling up. The bowser works on how much pressure or resistance is being created in the tank, and when it feels too much pressure it clicks off.

If that fail rotate the nossle when your filling up, or hold upside down see if that helps.

I thought I was on a winner when I filled up yesterday, until about 15 seconds in when it vomited petrol back at me, lol.
Still to get around replacing the breather hose.
