I saw this at the Grand Prix. Was natering to some guys and one of them said that it was a replica that had been knocked up in Sandringham (could've knocked me over with a feather).
I thought that it was real one at first (and wondered why it didn't have the double bubble roof). Apparently they take a 2+2 DBS (6 cyl), cut and shut the platform chassis, reprofile the sills (which usually rust), build a spaceframe over the top and fit all aluminium panels to the frame. http://www.brooklands.com/ I was talking to one of the guys and he claims that it costs approx $400k aus (UK versions come in at about $800k aus). They can fit V8's and autos. The Zagato twin plug heads are approx $50k (gulp). And they appaerntly based the shape on the front of the first and the rear of the original Zagato's. All of the originals were slightly different (which is why you see some NQR photos of "the worlds most beautiful car"). I know that AM produced 3 evolutions on continuation chassis numbers (with slightly bigger wheels) when Victor Guantlett was running it. I don't know if this would still be classed as a 1971 car as far as emissions go. Certainly looks fan-bloody-tatstic. Photos can't do it justice (but $400k!)
