tickford220 . The diff bushes no longer became a problem for me, when I replaced them with aftermarket bushes that fit the spec. Ford wanted a softer ride with the power. It never was going to work in the long run. Changed under warranty and then replaced with proper bushes... those bushes are now hitting 150000 km no knocks since the last change.
Unmodified FG II manual turbo with 220000km for reference .....ROCK SOLID platform. (The NA versions were taxis for a reason). The tyres, however, are on the driver, in my experience 8D Last edited by dmat2391; 21-06-2023 at 07:27 PM. |

Saw someone locally advertising their XF panel van for $34K with a sign on the windscreen, I thought it was a bit ridiculous, the XF didn't even have an 8 cylinder option.

Indeed. A natural reaction in a jaded market is to think it’s a “flipper”.

Nah I think its a marriage split thing, he recently sold a decent VW Combi survivor. I'm eyeing off his 25ft frig pan in the yard.

When I bought the Thailux I couldn't get an XG or an XH under $10K at the time, now I've got a couple for sale locally for sub $7000 and manual one too.

Without turning this into a tractor thread, I picked up a 1977 Ford 8700 tractor a few weeks back. Original 4,500 hours from original owner. Old man had a similar one when I was a young fella so for me it’s a bit of a flash back for this old fella…

The old Disco will definitely be a future classic.

Anyone else noticed a softening in E Series prices? Perhaps my dream of owning a manual EF XR8 would be achievable after all.
XD-XF? Forget it. Remember when nobody thought they would climb in value because they didn’t have chrome bumpers?

This red XR8 has been on there for months. I might try and get there to see it in a few weeks. As for other 1990s modern classic performance sedans, can only see the Mercedes E55 AMG as offering as good value. Some VS Clubsport and Senators are now around the $30k mark but manual and 5.7s are still expensive. |

I looked at a 1991 600SEL V12 yesterday, and what I could see of the loom had the insulation cracking, would probably flake away if disturbed. Didn’t buy, seller wanted $16k and it was a neglected POS. E34 M5 auction finished today for a good price. The buyer will be stoked. Cheapest one on car sales is $50k while another has been on there for at least a year pushing 6 figure asking price. Another reality check. |

That was nearly always the case. Fairmont / Fairlane were equivelant roughly and Fairmont Ghia / LTD.

1999 LTD with just under 100,000 km on the clock. Big money though, I guess that's why its been up for sale for a while..........
https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...3254097/?Cr=14 1998 LTD with only 80,000km, again, big ask for such an old car. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...0573511/?Cr=50 This BA looks decent, 62,000 km on the clock. Nice colour, but shame about the incorrect wheels. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...2336014/?Cr=28
