I once thought "C'mon" (short for come on) was referring to "Semen"

As for the drink driving one, I thought it was an offense to just drive holding the beer bottle in your hand (before I knew anything about B.A.C.)

I was born in 1970. I can laugh about it now, but growing up in the 1980's at the height of the Cold War (pre Gorbachev, glasnost and perestroika) I was utterly convinced that I would not see my 25th birthday, that we would all perish in the forthcoming nuclear war between Amerika (deliberate spelling) and the USSR. Mind you, I made absolutely no preperations to "bug out" except for getting a fair deal of fitness due to cycling - where the blazes was I gonna cycle to if the war came??

One night we had the start of a big thunderstorm. I would have been about 14 and there was a huge CRASH of thunder. Duck and cover, under the blankets! The Russians are coming!

I now read Survivlaist blogs and websites and are quite amazed that some people (mainly Yanks) still think that the world will end and how they are hoarding weeks and weeks worth of food, an arsenal of guns and ammunition, and regularly practise getting away from civilisation FAST.

Thought the world was black and white in the olden days (pretty common one)

That england ruled the world and that the British empire still existed, and that they would save us from the Chinese

Boxy Volvos were really cool. I wanted a Volvo 940

Beyond 2000 and all those shows, I thought we would all be driving whizz bang hover cars by now

When my family owned a Commodore and a few Toyota's i was convinced that Ford owners were evil 2nd class citizens. On the same level who used Optus instead of Telecom, or shopped at Coles in stead of Woolworths.

Oh yeah when the computer crashed, I acutally though it had performed an 'illegal' operation

Those survival skills may yet come in handy if there's a zombie apocalypse.

i used to think i could make a motorbike go faster if i worked out a way to turn the throttle on the handle around 3 times. i'll re phrase that if i could increase the throttle travel on a motorbike handle . but turning it around 3 times it would be the fastest thing on the planet .

When I was about 6 years old, I'd heard about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I could actually visualize it with all the shimmering gold etc. Anyway oneday it had been raining and when the rain finished, I'd seen the rainbow. So off I went to find the gold. I'd never walked so far in my life and I constanly wondered why the rainbow kept moving hahaha.

Now more are coming to me. I thought you married women you loved so I asked my mother to marry me.

I thought if the plane crashes, all you have to do is jump up and you will live haha.

I called girls parts the same word as what boys had, cause I thought that they peed too.

I thought girls were evil cause they were the ones trying to make me kiss them etc. I think I'm still right!

I wondered where is the ham in my hamburger?

When I was little used to think you could get a switch for your supercharger. Thanks to Mad Max and My Sience Project.
Used to think nothing could beat a V8 in a race and Elvis was still alive.

Surprisingly there are owners of GTs who still believe that, until they get burnt off at the lights by a F6 of course. There's a mate of my father who went back to the dealer to get some headlight protectors for his new FG and he saw someone who owned a new GT who came in asking if they could install a turbo onto his GT because he got burnt off at the lights by a G6E Turbo!

When I was young, I thought the more cylinders - the faster the car. A 6 cylinder was reasonably fast, an 8 cylinder was very fast, a 10 cylinder car was faster again, a V12 or V16 could almost reach the speed of light.

First time I rode a mate's 2 stroke peewee farm bike, he warned me to be careful as it had a very narrow powerband. He had me wondering why he didn't just get a new one that was wider.

Obviously from seeing how it looked on TV, I used to think that if you took your clothes off and just kissed a girl while you were both naked, you'd have a baby. Thank god I was wrong or I would have had a baby with the girl next door when I was 8. :(
