can't help your assumptions, or your inability to put yourself in other peoples shoes/situations.

i didn't misrepresent anything. if i left my job but wanted to stay in the same trade, my travel time would be the same or more.

Get all those receipts together and demand a refund from the suppliers.
You are being charged for a tax that was abolished in 2000.
GST replaced WST.

If they where to introduce it, they should operate it like speed cameras except it takes a photo of your rego when you enter certain parts of the inner city, then sends the bill in the mail.

The solution isnt to put freeways allowing people to criss cross the city in 1 hour from Cranbourne to Melton to travel to work because that's the only place they can find a job in the short term......the cost is enormous($ and enviro) and unsustainable for a city that is growing, how many more tunnels etc do we want to build?
As I said it needs to be a long term solution, roads have their place as does public transport as does better planning etc. I dont think governments are looking ahead. As for costs, cost will only increase the longer they (governments) delay taking action.

I dont think the population fills roads for the sake of it - I beleive its because they have little choice. As some have stated in this thread provide reasonable puiblic transport and they will utilize that rather than the roads. I understand you may suggest this is cost prohibitive, but i suggest doing nothing (or very little) is costing more

Or you just link it up to you city link/breeze account. In Singapore they just use their toll system for this.
