Finally saw my first VF this evening on the M2 .... I thought I was following a current model Lancer with the tailight shape design ... as that's what it looked like as I was approaching it from behind. Was only when I was a few car lengths back then i realised it was a VF.

i don't mind them, i'll go against the grain, i think they look a bit better than the ve, i like the airy interior, just the bright colored dash/interior models i think will bite the big one on sunny days, interested in anyones experience with these.

The front looks good, the interior looks good too but feels cheap, but the rear is hideous.

looks great, but all those shots are front on, and show the best features of the VF. The back end is a dogs breakfast. It's as if they had two minutes until design deadline, and just went "meh, close enough"

When the FG first came out, I thought it looked like crap. I was very critical of the design in this forum.

Boy, was I wrong. The FG has aged very well and I really like it now. The design has grown on me.

I think the VF will be the same. I already liking some parts of it.

Your GS looks sensational too I might add.

No but it was only my opinion. Your opinion is biased because of how much a Ford fan boy you are. It could be an Adventador with a Holden badge and you'd still say the FG looks better.

Holden have done a great job with the VF, and IMO they are ahead now (in the looks department). I am a Ford man too and I reckon the FH will be better than the VF just as the FG was better in every way than the VE but ATM I would visit a Holden dealership before I visit a Ford one if I was a buying a new car right now.

It's quite funny how biased people can be about which cars are broken down on the side of the road more often. Well I've actually been counting them this past year and EA-EL Falcons despite there being very few still in service are the most common breakdowns (90% head gaskets). Commodores of no specific age are next with about half the number of EA-EL (all models from VN-VE seem to be stranded equally) I'd say mostly with fuel pumps but given that they are still the most common car on the road it's to be expected. I don't see Falcons AU onwards broken down (never) and hardly ever and I mean verrrrrrry rarely see a Hyundai broken down despite there being millions on the road

Liked the FG as new, and think it has aged well, particularly the G series with chrome windowlines and light tan trims. Still like the interior. I was a fan of the AU's tumblehome on each quarter and it adds to the elegance of the FG.

As for VF, I have to like it as it's the only way to get a new Aussie RWD (non SUV) wagon, and the only way to get a new Aussie LPG wagon!

Also, to look at an EcoBoost G6E and an Evoke Sportwagon on the highway, it's 6.4L/100km and 6.7L/100km respectively - pretty impressive.

saw a white sv6 on the freeway today, gotta say the rear is just woefull in my opinion & from the front at a distance the bottom of the bumper/spoiler appears to flare out from the rest of the car, almost looked like a frilly skirt on a woman..
i reckon the ve looked better overall

nice looking car. it seems that they go through phases, first the cars become more squarish, then get more curved then go back to being squarish again.

Overall i think the VF is a nice car.

The interior is nice but the carbon fibre is gaudy and I'd be seriously concerned about how all that white suede is gonna look after a few hot summers...

I think the interior is quite classy, they've certainly spent some $$ and time refining it over the nasty VE.

The SS/SV6 rear has not been executed well in my opinion. Firstly there's far too much red in the tail lights, it makes the rear look very basic- they should have at least had a black border (not unlike the SSV units). Plus the black sections being matte look very cheap it also isn't consistent with the front of the car where the black is gloss. Particularly with the no spoiler option, the rear end looks like a tarty Omega to me.

It's pretty bad when that rear end of the Cruze is tougher and better looking than the VF beside it!

I agree. The tail lights are very 'low spec' looking. The VE ones looked better.
