Invasion of privacy ? - I think not !. There are - and have been for ages - cameras on nearly every few street corners / on every freeway etc etc. So long as these cams aren't looking in your house windows invading your privacy then imo I don't think you have a case. Realy the 'street view' is no more invading of privacy than what the original google earth was, you can still look in peoples back yards etc etc. Get used to it ! , this is still just the beginning of 'Big Brother' watching everthing you do.

our area pics are over 2 years old

in fact the service road we use every day... supposedly doesn't exist!

If you type in our actual address...
our house is located in the middle of a four lane major road

sheesh !

Someone posted that people in the pics were blurred.

In the one of my neighbour out front of his house he is looking directly at the camera and isn't blurred at all, but they did blur his little girl that is standing next to him.

Absolutely Unreal!

Just looking at my street, Our neighbours house pictures has the a Bus going up the street, but the picture of our house (10m down the road), has no bus and a car.

The pictures from our area must be really old, there is a Tree out front that was cut down about 2 years ago in the picture.

Well, I've noticed one thing, the driver drove down the wrong side of the road for a good 300m+ in my street!

Great for 'virtual drives' too. If you have some spare time, maybe a run though the Alps behind Thredbo and Khancoban (Top Gear Australia July 08 style...)

I would think that they would only record the images going one way, so when you turn the images around you are looking out the back of the car, giving the impression they are driving down the wrong side of the road.....

Does she want written permission from every shopping centre, government building, train station, sporting event, public place, freeway, toll road or any other place that captures images as well? “Oh I feel so violated” I’ll never step outside my house again.

Are you sure about this? There’d be a lot of real estate agents in jail if this was the case.

Good point. I wouldn’t want anyone seeing my house if I lived in Western Sydney either.

Hahaha.

Any body can see us everyday as we walk to the shops, drive to work etc, who cares, how many people are actually going to see the picture anyway? Is it really that important?

This site is gold for thieves. It'd be easier sitting there looking at isolated houses, the security for each one etc. You could even plan good escape routes.

google earth only updates the new areas. my mates mate had a blow up pool in his backyard when he was about 5 years old..... google earth still shows this blow up pool, and he's 21 now!. Governments been able to take these high res pics ages ago. They probably can watch live feeds now.

Soon they'll start microchipping everyone at birth and monitor anyone at any given time through systems like these...I rekon that's where it's headed.

the photo of my old house is about 2 years old from the satellite pic (shows my bf xr6 in the drive) The pic is also a lot higher res than it was in previous versions of google earth. I've seen about 5 versions of the pic so far in updates. So the whole thing is updated pretty regularly.
