Thanks All.

Does wanyone know if the ELGT Snorkels make any improvment on these. Also is it worth putting in a Larger Cam

Putting in a cam is quite a lot of work compared to the OHC sixes ;) Also, it wouldn't be worthwhile until the heads are swapped too for better flowing units.

ELGT snorkel would make a negligable improvement.

What are the specs of the cats-back? If you've got the coin you might want to splash out on a full exhaust system, extractors really change the note! :

Cats back on this car are pretty simple - 2 into 1 into a 14" Hotdog (IIRC) then 2.5" straight out. Simple but noisy.

VERY friggin sweet mate. A 5 litre EF Ghia is the mutts nutts! Love it! Huge street cred IMO.

A Ticky skirt kit would make it look a treat.

Unsure

I know my 3.8l Commodore V6 gets 300-350km's out of 70l of LPG. Thats City driving.

I know the 5l will drink more, but if im light on the right foot (sometimes) all should be ok.

LPG gets aweful economy anway, but for 1/3 the price, i don't mind

If you are a good boy in this you will see it around 10 on the hwy home and around 12-13 in town. Based on your Commodore's consumption, if Gas is 50c and Pulp is 122c, you will probably save around 30c per litre. If you do 500ks a week in the Fairmont, this will save you around $20 a week.

Just weigh up how much you are going to spend on getting LPG and how long it will take you to recoup your money. 2 years if it costs you $2k.

You also need to take into account things like:

a) How much would you prefer the car to stay on Pulp (and what's that worth to you?)
b) How long are you realistically keeping the car for? Average is only a few years.

Using b), you will actually save money in the 3rd year - probably $1k. Given that you have now owned the car for 3 years, you have successfully saved $6.40 a week.

Based on the GREAT DEAL we have come to, resale won't matter too much when you sell it.

Is it worth it to you to save $6.40 a week and have the car on LPG?

Need to consider that Pulp will increase in price at a more rapid rate than LPG too.

Wow. I have never thought it through that much!

Basically i do 7-800k's per week in my cars. The cost of gas conversion is $2650.00 with a $2000.00 rebate. so in esence. $650

Resale doesn't bother me at all.

Im really happy with LPG, as apposed to ULP. Doing my job, having fun a V6 on LPG and a 4cyl on ULP, i can't deny the LPG

oh wow, thats one smooth looking fairmont, i wanna take mine in to get all the little bumps out, if ya wanna make the car stand out even more, on top of your plans, get some altezza taillights, clear side indicators and even though ya rims are pretty decent, if ya do decide to put a new set on, for that colour car, id go for either gun metal rims, shadow chrome rims, or shadow alloy rims, ive got shadow chrome rims on mine and they look sweet, btw if ya need only a single din surround to fit ya stereo into, i'd be glad to swap ya, ill even pay for both the postage

Thanks mate. Not a fan of the Altezza tail lights, but will be doing the clear side repeators.

As for the rims, i was thinking gun metal too. 5- Spoke Gunmetal with a chrome Lip. We'll see though

Will get back to you about the stereo surround. Sound good though Cheers!

Yeah. Im gunna see how much a full LPG tank weighs it down.

Either i will do:

Front: Super Low
Rear: Ultra Low

or

Front: Low
Rear: Super Low

I want her Low and Loud. Just how a V8 Ghia should be!
